About the Artist

Jayne graduated from the University of Cumbria with a Foundation Degree in Drawing.   Currently she is specialising in drawings and illustrations depicting livestock and rural wildlife.  Sketching from life and observation of the animals in their natural environment is essential to her work and this is IMG_20201117_160637084combined with larger scale studio creations where she uses a variety of media, predominantly pen and ink with watercolour and pastel.  Jayne spent her childhood on a Cumbrian dairy farm and now finds her inspiration within the farming and countryside environment.    The use of bold, flowing line, capturing the essence of the subject is the hallmark of her work.  Whether sketching pedigree livestock or native wildlife, simplicity, motion and energy are portrayed in her unique and impressionistic style.

Jayne is a member of Green Door Artists and has shown artwork at the following
